As one of the very few pixel LED controllers, the SP63CE can also control both standard white and CCT LED strips in parallel. This means that with just one app and a single LED installation, you can create running lights and other effects, plus RGB color control, plus high-quality, standard ambient lighting.

The SP63CE offers parallel outputs for this purpose. One is for pixel LED strips, such as WS281x, SK681x, etc., and the other is for standard, high-quality CCT LED strips with variable color temperature. Of course, simple white LED strips can also be used if variable color temperature isn’t needed. 

But that’s not all.  

As a pixel controller, the SP63CE also offers simple music control, meaning that music and sounds control the lighting effects.  

Additionally, power-on effects are available; that is, when the light is turned on (via the app, a button, a remote control, or a standard light switch and 230V), a brief effect (such as “Waterflow” or “Running Water”) plays, after which the controller switches to the normal, previously set mode (e.g., simple white light). When turning off via the app, button, or remote control, a shutdown effect is also played. 

If the 146 pre-programmed effects aren’t enough for you, you can also create your own effects in a dedicated DIY section of the app. Color duration, color changes, movements, speed, and brightness—everything is flexibly configurable. 

Turning on via 230V: In the app, you can also set how the controller behaves when turned on via 230V (light switch). This way, when turned on via a standard light switch, it can generally always turn the light on, regardless of whether it was previously turned off via the app or the light switch. This elegantly solves a common problem with other controllers. 

The SP63CE connects to the app (BanLax) via Bluetooth and operates within the 5–24 VDC range. The connection is only necessary to configure the controller. After that, all lighting effects play even without a connection to the app. 

The controller provides 1 output for pixel LED strips and can control up to 600 pixels. This corresponds, for example, when used in combination with our RGB-Pixel-COB-LED-Band LK133-20 with a maximum total length of 30 m. In addition, there is an output for standard CCT LED strips, which can handle a load of up to 5 A (120 W at 24 V). For larger installations, a Repeater be supplemented.

The "BanlanX" app is available for free on iOS and Android.

Setting up the controller is intuitive and takes just a few minutes. The controller is operated via Bluetooth. A small remote control for the most important functions is available as an option.

CAUTION: Keep the cable between the controller and the LED strip as short as possible. Longer connection cables (e.g., 2m or longer) can cause interference in the data signal, resulting in flickering LEDs, for example. If only long cables can be used, additional RangeExtenders must be used.

The pixel LEDs must be powered separately and directly from the power supply, not through the controller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the controller require an existing Wi-Fi network?

No, the controller is controlled directly via Bluetooth.

Can the controller also control colored RGB LEDs?

The controller can control a standard RGB(W) LED strip, but the RGB pixel LED strips can also simply be set to a static light without effects if desired, in which case they function like a standard RGB LED strip.

Can the controller also be used with regular white LED strips (not pixel strips)? 

Yes, the SP63CE offers parallel outputs for white CCT LED strips with adjustable color temperature.

Can multiple controllers be used at the same time in the app?

Yes, the app can manage multiple controllers at the same time. You can switch between controllers and adjust the settings for each one. You can also turn individual controllers on and off directly. However, there is no direct synchronization, and each controller must be configured separately. 

Does the app have to be running for the animations to play?

No. The app is only needed for setup. You can close the app afterward and, for example, turn off your smartphone. The SP63CE will continue to play effects and light up the LEDs according to the settings.

Does the controller retain its settings when it is no longer receiving power?

Yes, the controller can simply be unplugged. When power is restored, it will resume the previously set animation or static lighting. All settings are retained.

Can the controller also be operated using standard light switches?

Yes, that’s no problem at all. The turn-on effects will also play. Unlike when switching via the app or the optional remote control, however, there are of course no turn-off effects when switching directly via a light switch, since no voltage is applied once the switch is flipped and the light goes out immediately.

Can the SP63CE also control LED matrices?

No. Currently, the SP636E does not offer any features for LED matrices. 

Can the recommended radio remote controls operate multiple controllers?

Yes. The wireless remote controls can distinguish between up to 4 controllers. Programming takes place within 20 seconds after power is applied to the controller (as described in the remote control manual).
