Aluminium profiles
Aluminum profiles, also called LED bars or LED profiles, are an ideal and often even necessary addition to your LED installation.
- They are made of anodized aluminum that dissipates the heat loss of the LEDs and thus ensures a long service life of the LEDs.
- Covers (transparent or milky opal) are available for all profiles to protect the LEDs. This also allows the installation to be wiped clean.
- If the LED installation is in the visible area, it is visually enhanced by a profile. You get an elegant, slim LED luminaire.
- Surface-mounted profiles in U-shape for mounting on suspensions, coving, furniture, etc.
- Insert profiles for mounting in (milled) grooves or between 2 panels
- Angle or corner profiles for slanting the LED strips

IPA can be mounted directly on edges of plasterboard and other panels, thus forming a light cove and possibly also have space for power supplies and controllers. In the simplest case, a simple ceiling suspension with wooden slats and plasterboard mounted on them, onto which the IPA profiles are then plugged, is sufficient. Mounting
This profile system has large-surface wings (20 mm wide), which can be filled with tile adhesive and thus integrated as an inner corner of a tile mirror. The tiles are glued to the wings.
The self-adhesive LED strip is glued into the LED profile. For excellent adhesion of the self-adhesive LED strips, we recommend thorough cleaning and degreasing of the inside of the profile with a cleaner such as isopropanol or extraction benzine.
After the profile cover has been clicked flush into the profile, the open ends are sealed with silicone. Then the LED profile is filled with tile adhesive to the building structure and finally connected to the LED lighting and control technology (power supply unit / controller).
The LED profile covers (opal/satin - light transmittance 65 % | transparent : light transmittance 85 %) are made of unbreakable and hardly combustible polycarbonate (flammability classification UL94V-2) and close flush.
Moisture protection
Use in wet rooms or outdoors is only possible in sealed form. Silicone, which is applied to the joints for sealing, offers special protection against moisture and water. Absolute waterproofing of LED profile systems is achieved by casting with Wepuran casting resin based on polyurethane resin (PUR).

Serves as a protective coating for printed circuit boards, electrical connections, electronic components, etc. The spray is also regularly used for LED strips that are exposed to moisture - e.g. in bathrooms or outdoors. After gluing the LED strip into an aluminum profile, the entire strip is sprayed from a short distance. Hint:
Make sure that the width of the aluminum profile fits the selected LED strip. For example, there are aluminum profiles that can only accommodate strips up to 10mm wide. Wider strips, such as RGBW LED strips with 12mm band can not be installed in these narrow profiles. In this case, choose a profile with a larger width. A milky opal cover diffuses the light of the LEDs so that you notice individual LED dots less or not at all. However, the milky opal cover also swallows some light. Calculate with 30-50% light loss. Alternatively, you can choose a transparent cover for many aluminum profiles. This swallows little light (max. 10%) and still offers effective protection, e.g. when wiping the LED installation. With indirect lighting, the light of the individual LEDs usually mixes after 5cm at the latest. Therefore, a transparent cover is usually sufficient here for a uniform light impression without LED hotspots.Topic: LED strips
