These profiles are the basis for your indirect lighting. In principle, you can process ORAC DECOR® profiles like wood: sawing, sanding, drilling, and finally painting. Everything is possible. ORAC profiles are:

ORAC DECOR® coving is also made of high quality, solid DUROPOLYMER® or PUROTOUCH®. While many light coves are only made of simple styrofoam-like materials with low density (<70kg/m³), ORAC DECOR® uses high density polymer (220 - 420kg/m³) in its light coves. The advantages:

more precise and easier to process (e.g. when sawing, grinding, etc.)
finer details can be realized
hard & shockproof: >27 shore D
no pressure points can occur (e.g. when pressing on after gluing)
much higher quality impression
extremely temperature resistant (up to 70°C)
dimensionally stable even over time (especially important for corner joints, miters, etc.)
can even be used in damp rooms and outdoors

FAQ

How are the ORAC coves installed?

The covings can generally be simply glued to the wall or ceiling. The appropriate adhesive is listed with the coving under "Recommended accessories".

Can the coving simply be painted / varnished?

Yes. The coving itself is matte and already primed. They only need the final coat of paint.

Can the coving also be glued to surfaces that have already been painted?

Yes, it is important that the surfaces are dry and free of grease and dirt so that the adhesive adheres well.

Can the coving also be glued to wallpaper?

This is usually possible with the strong FDP700 adhesive. However, it is better to remove the wallpaper locally beforehand.

Can I use ORAC coving outdoors and in wet areas?

Yes. That is possible. However, please use the appropriate adhesive FDP700 for outdoor applications.

What is the best way to process joints and seams?

For perfect joints Orac Decor® offers a seam adhesive: DecoFix Extra. After gluing 2 strips with Decofix Extra, it is important to press them against each other. The excess adhesive is immediately removed with a spatula. After 20 minutes, the remaining adhesive is removed again with a spatula and the joint is lightly sanded. The joint can then be filled with a joint filler.

How do I remove the adhesive residue?

– DecoFix Pro (for porous surfaces inside): remove immediately with water.

– DecoFix Power (for all surfaces inside and outside): remove immediately with a soap solution or cleaning cloth.

– DecoFix Extra (for perfect joints): remove after 20 minutes with a spatula and acetone, thinner or a cleaning cloth.

How long can I use the adhesive after purchase?

For 12 months. The date of manufacture is printed on the packaging.
