Our cove lighting profile offers the ideal solution for sophisticated, indirect ceiling lighting. It is positioned on the front edge of the plasterboard cove and then filled to ensure seamless integration into the ceiling structure. The 45° angled alignment of the LEDs creates a harmoniously wide, soft light effect, while the front visible edge prevents the light source from being directly visible and causing glare.
A decisive factor for the lighting result is the opal cover of the LEDs. It not only protects against dust and dirt, but also ensures pleasant light distribution. The milky appearance of the opal cover mixes the hard LED light, resulting in uniform, soft illumination of the ceiling. Without this cover, the front visible edge creates a hard shadow on the ceiling, which detracts from the overall appearance. In addition, the cover visually compensates for minor irregularities - such as slight waves when gluing in the LED strip.
For applications where maximum brightness is the top priority, a transparent cover with 85 % light transmission can be used as an alternative. However, this should only be used in exceptional cases, as the softer, more aesthetic lighting effect is reduced.
We recommend a pressure roller for gluing and lightly pressing on the LED strips.
