48V LED strips
LED strips with a 48V design enable particularly long LED lines as the typical voltage and brightness drop is significantly reduced. Lengths of up to 20m are possible with a single-sided voltage supply. If fed in on both sides (or in the middle), a total length of 40m is even possible.
Another advantage of this LED strip is its very narrow pitch of just 1.67 cm. This means that the LED line can be adapted to almost any situation. With 120 LEDs/m, the LED density is sufficiently high so that many aluminum profiles (from 10 mm installation depth) can be used for a perfectly homogeneous light line without spot formation.
With CRI>90, the LED strip also achieves excellent color quality, even for demanding requirements.
48V LED strips are the perfect solution for all installations where parallel cable routing is difficult or impossible. Typical examples are
- Long LED lines in corridors, stairwells, etc.
- Façade lighting (observe IP protection)
- Indirect lighting with very filigree light coves / stucco moldings
Available variants
- By the meter IP20, connection cable optional
Notes on accessories:
A 48V power supply unit with at least 160 watts is required to operate 20m LED strips. 20m x 8W/m = 160 watts.
A controller with at least 3.4 amps is required to control the brightness of the 20m. 160W / 48V = 3.4 amps.
Frequently asked questions:
Is it safe to install 48V LED strips?
Yes. Just like 24V or 12V, 48V belongs to the low voltage range and can be installed by anyone.
Are there any disadvantages of 48V LED strips compared to the familiar 24V LED strips?
There is currently still a very limited selection of LED strips and LED controllers in the 48V range. This means that you have to make do with a few options for control.
Are 48V LED strips particularly efficient and generate less heat than 24V LED strips, for example?
No. The efficiency and heat development are comparable. We therefore also recommend aluminum profiles for heat dissipation of the LEDs for 48V LED strips.
